What is the Purpose of Life?

7/5/2016

The purpose of life is to enjoy life. The purpose of life is to have fun. The purpose of life is joy. We could stop here if you were fulfilled with this answer, but if you’re like me, I know this answer is not enough.
What is the purpose of life?
Isn’t interesting to know that, for some of us, joy in this life is not enough purpose to live for? Let’s explore why.

Understanding purpose

Let’s begin from the beginning and define purpose. Purpose is the intention and desire to do something greater than ourselves, for the benefit of ourselves and others.

It is also the strong need to feel useful, fulfilled and to leave a legacy. Why can’t joy be one of it? Because it’s something we have access to all day and every day, and joy coming from daily experiences is not the same as the deep joy that comes from doing our soul’s work.

The fact that sometimes we think that our purpose is something that we do not know how to do or worse yet, that we do not know anything about, doesn’t help much. This makes it even harder for us to be open to it.

So, the conclusion is that the purpose of life we’re looking for is the intention we set for coming to this world. I mean there has to be a reason, right? This universe, this world, and this life were not meant to exist just because. There has to be a purpose for it all. There is. There’s an individual purpose for your life, a purpose for my life, and a purpose for everybody’s lives.

Some people remember this purpose or intention that they set up for this life and at a very early age begin working on it. Some people know since they’re little that they want to be writers, singers, healers, leaders, artists, teachers, etc . Some others, like me, don’t remember much and need to do more searching.

I want to clarify something first, if you really want to find your true purpose for this life, your intention for coming to this world, you need to search for it inside of you. Your soul knows this and thankfully there are many ways you can communicate with it.

Why are you asking now?

For years I wondered what my purpose in life was and I just could not see it. I now understand that it was not time to know it yet. I was not ready for it. I would have not been able to see it much less accept it then since I barely accepted it when the time came and it showed up in my face. If you haven’t found it yet, don't worry, I will be helping you during the next few weeks.

After going through the experience of finding my purpose I realized that, like with most experiences, they all come at the time we need them and when we are ready for them.

I understood that this life is like a production process where the exact step is executed at the right time and for the right reasons. No, you’re not going to miss your purpose, and yes, you will be ready to receive it, but you'll have to make the decision to accept it and go for it once you discover it.

So, if you haven’t found your purpose, keep your eyes open for when it's time. If you are experiencing a strong urge to find your purpose now, then it’s here and it's time to move on to the next stage and begin the inner search now so you can see it and accept it.

Growth and transformation stage

I believe that we, humans, go through different stages in life and the stage to move to the level where you need to grow and transform is one of them.  In this stage is where you have a strong need to know your purpose. Is where you are being activated to advance to the next level, how I like to call it, and I’m glad you're here now where I can help you.

So, if you are asking what your purpose is, then it's time to grow and transform, time to be born again. You’ll understand why I say you’ll be born again when you find your purpose and it has nothing to do with religion.

Like I said above, in the next few weeks, I’ll show you how to find purpose where you are now, how to find your life’s intention, and how to live it to experience joy and fulfillment.

How does it feel when you find your purpose?

When you find your purpose, your intention for this life, you feel so engulfed with this “knowing” force which tells you that everything and everyone, including the heavens and the earth, are there to support you and to guide you and to cheer you up.

You feel so certain that you cannot fail at it. It’s impossible because you “know” this is it. You feel like you can do to anything because you’re so certain that the universe is there within arm’s reach to catch you if you fall.

Knowing and trusting the Universe, God, Source, makes it so easier to trust in yourself, your decisions, and your guidance, that no experience will ever feel like it’s a fall or a failure. You will understand that everything is part of the transforming and growing process you are going through to experience fulfillment and success. Success as in feeling great with every step you make.

You can even savor every little nudge of growth you see in you. It’s the most beautiful experience. You smile more, you are more excited about life and for what’s coming next that you just cannot wait to wake up again and keep growing.
The two most important days of your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why" –Mark Twain

Finding your life purpose, which is the same as remembering your intention for this life; it’s the most satisfying experience you can ever have.

You feel at peace knowing that you’re on the right path even though you don’t know exactly where you are going. You feel a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Are you ready to find your purpose? Have you found yours already? Let me now in the comments below.

Thanks,

I think the "answer" isn't just one answer. We are all here for many reasons, and everyday there is a purpose. :) Everything matters, everything you say, everything you do, and everyone you pass by etc.

You are right. Everything is so beautifully connected to a bigger purpose that nothing is ever wasted. Every experience, every word, every breath... everything.

You DO have a special purpose Taria! Just make sure you look inside yourself. Outside is only the reflection of what we are inside and you'll find nothing there. Best wishes! :)

Claudia, thank you for the reminder that the purpose to life is to ENJOY life! I found my purpose as the Kindness Junkie and it feels good. I don't know how that will produce income, other than my book coming out in the fall, but I trust the Universe! And yes, I feel at peace....finally! :-)

Once you've found your purpose, the ideas to produce income will start coming to you you'll see. Just keep trusting, be open.and once you find one idea that feels good, act on it. Best wishes Tae ;)

Claudia, you make me proud! How beautifully you write in English -- hardly any times was I able to detect Spanish is your first language. And your concepts are so full of wisdom for one so young as you. So I detect just one more genius amongst Uncle Ervil's children!

Yes, everyone has a purpose Shakirah. You begin living your purpose little by little especially when it "seems" to be something new to you. The good thing is that you know what it is. Go ahead... live it ;)

I am so grateful to feel a deep sense of purpose in my life which provides me meaning and grounding in times of challenge. I have clarified my purpose over the years to be simpler - to be and spread love - which is helpful when my roles or jobs change, especially as my daughters are now 17 and almost 21. This is a wonderful post and I love how you end it with being at peace knowing your intention for this life! Thank you!
