We all have a need to grow and learn more; a need to feel more than what we are; a need to feel greater and expanded. But, how do we know when it’s the best time to do so? I say it is when you begin to feel excited for what it’s coming, exhilarated for what you foresee and eager to begin growing. But, what if you confuse these feelings with fear? In the body they feel similar to each other after all. Excitement and fear feel similar in the body First, I want you to learn how the good feeling feels since excitement and fear have similar responses in the body. Both feelings make you feel shaky, both feelings make you feel something in your gut, and both feelings make you feel cautious. The good news is that you can learn to recognize them from each other. If you have experienced or are currently experiencing any of those feelings, I want you go a bit beyond them and answer the following questions. First close your eyes and focus on what you’re feeling in your body. What’s causing it? How does it feel? Do think it is excitement? What comes after that exciting feeling? Something that feels good? Is it something that you can’t wait to begin? Is it something that makes your body straight, strong and wanting to go for it? Or is it something you rather not do? Is it something you really don’t want to go to? Something that will make your body feel weak, slouch and want to run away from it? Pay attention to your answers and write them down if you need to. Now, answer the same questions for the feelings of something in your gut, shakiness, and any other feeling you might not be able to recognize whether it’s good or not for you. Recognize when it’s time to grow Now that you know how to decipher the feelings in your body, focus on those that feel good to you. By focusing on the good feelings you will be able to better see the positive possibilities coming your way. You will know it is time to grow personally and professionally when:
Do not resist change, change is good. Change is the only constant in this world. I know for some of us it is unnerving to go through change for fear of the unknown, for fear of pain, and for fear of failure. We’ve definitely learned that uncertainty is no fun at all. Although it is always safe and comfortable to stay where we are, I want you to understand that we were not meant to stay put. We were meant to move, and grow, and evolve, and expand. We were not meant to stay stagnant. We were meant to become more than what we are each and every day. It’s the only way to go back to being who we really are. So, try to make peace with change and embrace it. Besides, who doesn’t like a bit of an adventure and excitement in their lives every now and then. Don’t be afraid, there is no way you can get it wrong and there is no way you cannot learn from the experience. Experience is what makes you grow and expand anyways, so go for it. Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong.” ―Mandy Hale We all have a timeline in this life and just cannot prevent our advancement, so we might as well be consciously involved in the process and enjoy it, don’t you think? So, pay attention to the signs you see around you, with your eyes open and with your mind’s eye. Pay attention to how you feel when you recognize the time to improve is near. And if the opportunity has presented itself right at your door steps, and if it feels good and true to you, I recommend you to go for it and have fun. Did you like this post?
