Two very famous people told us to change our thoughts and our life and world would be changed. I want to say it to you again, but I will also explain how you can do so. Norman Vincent Peale said “Change your thoughts and you change your world." Later, Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote a book titled “Change your thoughts - Change your life.” If you’re wondering how you can do this, I’ll explain it to you. What I’m going to tell you, about changing your thoughts, I didn’t get it from Peale or Dyer’s books. And even though I own books from both of them, I haven’t read them as of yet but I still strongly believe they’re both correct. Everything starts with a thought You have heard that everything begins with a thought, right? Well, that’s true. Every little thing that has ever been created in this world it’s because someone thought of it first. If we begin creating something from a rotten thought, well, it should be no surprise that we would have a rotten result. But if we begin our creation with a great and positive thought, it should also be no surprise that we would have a great and positive result. How does a thought feel? But how exactly do you change a thought? Especially when you’re so used to letting your mind go running wild and think whatever it wishes? Well, you begin by paying attention to how each thought feels. If the thought doesn’t feel good, then it’s very likely it’s not a good thought for you. But if the thought feels good, then it’s very likely it is a good thought for you. This means that you don’t have to monitor your thoughts all of the time. All you have to do is to pay attention to how you feel. If you notice you’re not feeling good, pay attention to what thought is causing that feeling and choose another thought. Change your thoughts Changing your thoughts is about choosing another thought to focus upon. Instead of focusing on a thought that doesn’t make you feel good, pick another thought totally unrelated to what’s making you feel bad. When you do this your mind begins to bring you more information about the new subject. This is what the mind does; it brings you more information about what you’re thinking about. Use your mind with purpose and to your benefit and tell your mind what you want more of. For instance, if you’re worried about how long you’re going to live, your mind will bring you more thoughts, ideas and information about the subject you’re thinking about. This means the mind is going to give you more information to keep you worried about how long you’re going to live. So, changing your thoughts means you totally turn your face from that thought and put your attention on another more pleasant thought. For instance, you can focus on the fact that you can see, you can talk, and you’re here reading these words. Then the mind will begin to bring you more thoughts, ideas and information about this subject. This should feel better, don’t you think? All action results from thought, so it is thoughts that matter.” –Sai Baba Every result of just about anything that we have in our lives came from actions we have taken. And all of these actions came from thoughts we had. If we pay attention to how those thoughts feel and change them to act only upon thoughts that feel good, our lives and world will change for the better. I know changing your way of thinking is a not a quick fix, but with constant practice, I also know it's totally possible. Are you paying close attention to your thoughts? What have you been thinking about lately? How do those thoughts feel? What do you do to focus on something else? Let me know in the comments below. Did you like this post?
