At some time or another you might have heard that your life is the result of your actions. That you are responsible for your destiny. That you create your own reality. All of this means that you and only you are the responsible for what happens in your life. I totally agree with this idea and I want to explain to you why it is true. The idea that you create your own reality started being more famous after the Law of Attraction became more known. One of the books that helped with that was The Secret, because of the publicity and attention it received, although there were and are many other books that talk about the same concept. Dr. Wayne Dyer also wrote a book called Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life where the main concept is the same. So, my intention for today is to show you the connection that exists from a thought to having a better life. What are thoughts?Thoughts are glimpses of energy that are generated every time you think of something. Sometimes those glimpses of energy, if given enough attention, can grow and become the greatest moments, ideas or experiences for you and even the entire humanity. Or they can grow to become one of the darkest moments, ideas, or experiences for you and even the entire humanity. As you can see, it all depends on the attention you give to them. Generation of IdeasEverything begins with a thought, everything. I mean, the design of the clothes you are wearing right now came from an idea that was generated from a thought. The electronic device you are using to read this blog came from the idea of someone who had a thought that it was possible to make it. The shooting in Columbine High School, also came from an idea generated from a thought that it could be possible. Do you get my point? It all begins with a thought and then you give it attention which then gives it direction to become an idea. How Do We Give Direction To ThoughtsThoughts get their direction from your perception. Your perceptions, which is the way you see life, are composed of your own beliefs, your own desires, your own goals, and experiences you've had. Just by changing or modifying one of those components, you change your perception and your thought can become a complete different idea than it could have been. Something else you can also do, is just dismiss the thought as soon as you notice that you don't like the direction it's taking. How To Predict The Direction of a ThoughtYou might be asking yourself, but how do I know where a thought is going to go if I haven't seen the results yet? The answer lies in the next step. How does thinking that thought makes you feel? If it makes you feel good, it is very likely that the reaction you will have is a positive one. But if the emotion you get by having that thought is not so good, then it is very likely that the reaction you will have is not so good. And that is how your life, reaction by reaction, becomes your making. Now you know that you have control of the decisions you make and the results you are going to get. Now you know how you create your own reality.
