Life is supposed to be good. If you’re perceiving life’s problems bigger than you can manage, it’s because you allowed the monsters in your head to grow way out of control. Don’t worry; if you allowed them to grow, you also have the power to dissolve them.
Doesn’t matter the reason that gets a person to consider suicide, it all comes down to be from a negative perception of life. But as long as they have life, they have all the power in the universe to change that perception.
Before I go any further I want to clarify that I’m not an expert on this subject and that I’m not certified to counsel you if you’re thinking about, considering, or contemplating suicide. I just want to share with you something that might help you change your mind.
Where does the idea come from?
I remember when Robin Williams committed suicide. It was one of the most shocking moments I’ve had with regards to humanity. How was it possible that a comedian, someone who openly represented laughter and happiness to the entire world committed suicide? What happened? What went wrong?
In no way I attempt to know what happened that caused him, or any other, to commit suicide. I can only speculate since I too have been too far out in the edge of hopeless thought.
This is why I believe that the suicide idea might start from the fight or flight instincts we have combined with feelings of hopelessness, helplessness and worthlessness caused by thoughts that resulted from negative experiences in life.
It’s normal and harmless to feel those emotions every once in a while. What makes these emotions a problem is when we keep thinking about them over and over until one day they grow up so much that they become gigantic powerful monsters in our heads.
And then to make matters worse we believe that we are our thoughts. We’re not our thoughts and we’re not supposed to believe them if we don’t want to. This misunderstanding comes from lack of communication with our Higher Self.

We are not our thoughts
We do not generate thoughts, we receive them. That’s right, thoughts come to us according to the emotions we feel. If we feel worried, more thoughts to keep us worried will come to our mind. If we feel depressed, more thoughts to keep us depressed will come to our mind.
If we believe those thoughts, there will come a time when our brain’s neurons will get used to the chemical reaction those emotions bring to us. This chemical reaction is like a ‘fix’ for our brain. Yes, our brain’s neurons are getting addicted to those chemical reactions and want more of it.
The problem is that the only way to get more of that ‘fix’ is to bring to our awareness more of those negative feeling thoughts so the brain can create more chemical reactions. Do you see? It’s like a vicious circle. A circle that seems we cannot get out of; but we definitely can.

Take over your mind
The good news about your mind is that you can take over your mind by taking control of how you feel.
I said above that if you feel depressed your mind will bring you more thoughts to keep you depressed. But the good thing is that it also works for positivism. Meaning, if you feel happy, more thoughts to keep you happy will also come to your mind. Does it make sense? Your feelings are bringing you thoughts to you keep feeling the same way.
Once you begin to feel better, you’ll be better able to listen to your inner guidance. When we lose touch with our inner guidance is when we begin to wander and get lost in life.

- Now, the first step to begin feeling better is to realize what’s going on in your mind. What kind of things do you keep thinking about? What keeps you up at night? What makes you feel hopelessness, helplessness and worthlessness?
- Once you identify what you spend most of your time thinking of, the next step is to tell them to shut up. That’s right, tell them to shut up. You need to do this with loving authority just like you would do to someone else. You’d be amazed at how effective this is. Yes, with your voice tell your mind “shut up!”
- Then, you do all you can possible do to begin feeling better so better feeling thoughts come to your mind. It’ll happen a little bit at the time, but if you’re consistent, it’ll happen for sure. If you have a hard time trying to feel good, emotional healing can help you.

The bravest thing I ever did was continuing my life when I wanted to die.” –Juliette Lewis
You came to this world to enjoy everything that’s in it. Focus on doing that. It’s possible to live life as if this world is heaven, but it’s also possible to live it as if it’s hell. You’re so free to choose that you can choose how to live it; chose to live it well.
